Meet the team

Beverley
I love doing crafting, I’m a knitter mainly but also make rag rugs. I knew Lynsey from living locally and going bell ringing with her dad! When she opened The Old Milk Bar I arranged to sell some of my knitwear in the shop and volunteer my time too. I enjoy volunteering here, feeling like part of the Chirk community and doing something that’s for myself.

Carolyn
I’ve been volunteering in The Old Milk Bar for around six months. It has given me the opportunity to meet and work with lots of lovely new people. I’m always amazed at the talented sellers from the local area who display their crafts for sale. Neera, Lynsey and all the volunteers are passionate about The Old Milk Bar so it’s a pleasure to help out when I can.

Hazel
I first came into The Old Milk Bar with my glassware to see if they would be interested in stocking it, another shop had told me what I was making was “craft and not art”. The Old Milk Bar loved my work and could see it was beautiful art and they really boosted my confidence. From there I started to volunteer in the shop, everyone has been so friendly and it’s been lovely to be with people who appreciate creativity. The Old Milk Bar is just a friendly community hub.

Janice
As an artist it is lovely to have somewhere to show off local art and crafts and see what a talented community we have. I love volunteering at The Old Milk Bar as I meet a wide section of the community and people from all over the world. It also gives me a lot of inspiration for my own work.

Lee
I live very close to the shop so help out if any of the volunteers need a small break from their duties! Before The Old Milk Bar opened I didn’t have any interest in arts and crafts, but now I enjoy experimenting with making things. I also love attending the workshops held at The Old Milk Bar which help me to learn new crafts and meet new people and have fun.

Vikki and Colin
My husband and I originally lived and attended school in North Wales but moved away to pursue careers and have lived all over the world. Now retired we have decided to settle back in North Wales.
Vikki joined the team
after getting to know The Old Milk Bar as an exhibitor, and Colin has
consequently become our resident ‘man who can’.

Corinne
Lynsey, who had the dream about starting The Old Milk Bar is my oldest friend, so I am keen to support it where I can. I created the website, help to keep it up to date and make any changes it needs. I am also the photographer where possible! When I am not behind my computer screen you will mostly find me in the woods.

Sue
My dog Badger and I enjoy meeting visitors, engaging with our community, and supporting enterprises, crafters and artists. The Old Milk Bar is a worthy way of doing this and giving something back.

Amanda
I originally volunteered weekly, but due to other commitments, am now doing ad hoc shifts, which is perfect, as it means I can keep my hand in and allows me to still converse with our lovely customers and fellow volunteers.

Cookie
Woof woof, woof woof woof!
